Welcome to this month’s Blogger of the Month.

We love our Blogger of the Month feature, it helps us go behind the scene with some amazing bloggers! This month is a good one – you’re in for a great read and some really inspiring tips on how to grow your blog in 2022.

This month, we’ve caught up with the lovely Vicky of Miss Tilly and Me. Vicky has been blogging since 2013 and posts about life as a parent and grandparent along with being open and honest about mental health and a passionate advocate for online child safety.

We love Vicky’s blog and we’re excited to see what you think of this month’s Blogger of the Month instalment…

Here’s what Vicky had to say when we caught up with her…

Please tell us a bit about your blog…

My main blog is Miss Tilly And Me, where I talk about life as a parent and now a grandparent. I have also used my blog in the past to talk about mental health and how to keep kids safe online.

Nowadays it is a mash of all sorts of things because I have bipolar and it shows in my blog. One week I will want to talk all about parenting and the next all about beauty. But somehow my blog seems to come together.

It is my baby, and I am so protective of it. It is one thing that I have been able to do constantly for years, without losing interest and walking away from it.

How long have you been blogging?

I have been blogging since 2013, so 9 years now. I started out my blog life as Being Tilly’s Mummy, but as Tilly got older I needed a more grown-up blog name. One that would grow with Tilly.

Sometimes I look back at my old blog posts and realise how rubbish they were, the grammar was bad and the images were out of focus. But then it makes me realise how much I have grown as a blogger. It also makes me realise that in 2013, I started something that I knew nothing about and I self-taught myself to become a proper blogger.

What inspired you to start your blog?

I had spent over two years suffering from PND, and I don’t remember anything from 2010 to 2012. Apart from feeling lonely and sad. I wanted to record my time with Tilly and be able to look back if I did forget moments with her. I named the blog ‘Being Tilly’s Mummy’ because, after three years of being her parent, I finally felt like I was now actually being her mummy and not just functioning like a zombie. I had a manager at work who also encouraged me to keep it going because she knew it would help my recovery.

Then after my 18-year-old daughter disappeared from my life, after being groomed for 2 years under my nose. There was nowhere online to get help and advice. So all of the hate for the perpetrator and the passion for wanting to protect other kids from the same fate, made me carry on and write. It helped me from spiralling downwards. It gave me something to live on for. It is funny my little blog has saved my life so many times. That’s why I love it so much.

Who are some of the coolest brands you’ve worked with?

Although I have worked with some cool brands in the past. Since Covid, we have worked with fewer brands. When we went into ‘Covid’ Tilly was working with lots of toy brands because she was only 9 years old. Now suddenly, as we come out of Covid, she is a 12-year-old young lady, so we need to find new brands to work with.

We have worked with Nintendo before, they are awesome to work with. We have worked with Amazon Kindle and Baby Annabelle. Camp Bestival was awesome too. Tilly met Lewis Capaldi there and she couldn’t breathe afterwards. I thought she was going to faint. I have worked with so many brands over the years and I always encourage Tilly to get her friends involved so that she can share her opportunities. I loved working with Design Bundles, and that is the reason I bought a Cricut which I love 🙂

What do you like about Get Blogged?

I like that you get paid super fast from Get Blogged and it the funds go into a little ‘money pot’ that you can withdraw when you need it. Then it goes to PayPal. So if I have not made much one blogging month, I can use the Get Blogged money.

I also like that you can choose multiple blogs when you do a pitch, this saves me applying for each one individually. I also like the social side too; there is a Facebook group, where you will find interaction threads and can ask for advice. The staff from Get Blogged are great with their customer service.

What are your tips for bloggers who want to make money with their side hustle?

Don’t expect to be a millionaire overnight, it is a tough world in blogging. If you have recently started a blog, you need to get some really good blog posts on there. This means brands can see what your writing style is like and they learn more about you.

If you started a blog, just to make money but you fill it with PLR content brands are going to see those exact blog posts on 27 other blogs applying for an opportunity. They will know it is not your own unique work and you will not get paid work. Build your blog up, to something you are proud of and then start applying for paid work.

Don’t be scared to accept £10 for a blog post if you need the money. At the moment it is very hard to cover the bills, rent, food etc. So £10 is the difference between a small shop for you and not eating. Equally please don’t judge others for taking the small fees because you do not know their circumstances. They might be hiding from bailiffs on a daily basis.

Lastly, enjoy it. If you start losing your passion for your blog, then it is time to take a break and go back to writing for yourself again.

How do you feel about being chosen as Get Blogged’s blogger of the month?

I have had a rough time of it over the last couple of years, like everyone. So to be chosen as blogger of the month is awesome. It is like something good is happening again.

It is great to be able to share my story with you all. I don’t like being the centre of attention, but I think I need little pushes like this sometimes.

I have a few blogs going on in my life at the moment. So you can find us at :

Welcome to this month’s Blogger of the Month.

We love our Blogger of the Month feature, it helps us go behind the scene with some amazing bloggers! This month is a good one – you’re in for a great read and some really inspiring tips on how to grow your blog in 2022.

This month, we’ve caught up with the lovely Emma of Emma Plus Three. Emma has been blogging for six years and writes about days out, family life, fashion, travel and more.

We love Emma’s blog and we’re excited to see what you think of this month’s Blogger of the Month instalment…

Here’s what Emma had to say when we caught up with her…

Please tell us a bit about your blog…

My blog covers a range of lifestyle topics. It’s definitely changed over the years depending on what’s been going on in my life. I’ve always featured family life and fashion but there’s now more home content than ever before as we are renovating our house.

How long have you been blogging?

I’ve been blogging for six years now. It’s been so long that it’s become second nature for me to record my life in this way. I’m very proud of my blog and how far it’s come.

What inspired you to start your blog?

When I first started my blog my son was going through his autism diagnosis. It was an overwhelming time in my life so I started my blog to write down my feelings, but also to try and connect with other parents going through the same thing.

My son is 11 now and I don’t feel comfortable sharing personal details like this anymore, so my blog has definitely evolved since that time.

Who are some of the coolest brands you’ve worked with?

I’ve been lucky to work with lots of amazing brands over the years. Some of my favourites have been Away Resorts, McDonald’s, Eurocamp, Amazon, Butlins and Great British Racing. I like it when a brand gives you the freedom to be creative with your content.

What do you like about Get Blogged?

It’s so easy to use. I’ve tried a few blogging platforms over the years and they are either too difficult to understand, or they don’t bring you any work. I’ve only been on Get Blogged for a few months but I’ve already worked on lots of assignments.

What are your tips for bloggers who want to make money with their side hustle?

Stick at it. I’ve seen so many blogs come and go over the years because people think that the money will start rolling in straight away. It’s the same as with anything in life, you have to put in the effort if you want to see the rewards. But more than anything, you have to enjoy it.

If you’re just in it for the money, it probably won’t happen. I started my blog purely as a hobby, I had no idea you could make money from it. Even now, if the money was to disappear I can honestly say I’d still be here tapping away on my laptop.

How do you feel about being chosen as Get Blogged’s blogger of the month?

I’m over the moon to have been chosen! There are so many amazing bloggers out there, it feels good for little old me to have been recognised. Thank you to the Get Blogged team!

I would love for you to come and check out my blog, or follow me on social media. Instagram is where you will find me the most.

Welcome to this month’s Blogger of the Month.

We love our Blogger of the Month feature, it helps us go behind the scene with some amazing bloggers! This month is a good one – you’re in for a great read and some really inspiring tips on how to grow your blog in 2022.

This month, we’ve caught up with the lovely Helen of KiddyCharts. Her site is all about providing information and resources for parents, including reward charts, printables, potty training and general parenting tips.

We love Helen’s blog and we’re excited to see what you think of this month’s Blogger of the Month instalment…

Here’s what Sophie had to say when we caught up with her…

Please tell us a bit about your blog…

KiddyCharts is a bit of a dinosaur in the blogging world, as we are over ten years old! The site is, I think, the only social enterprise blog around; we give 51%+ profits to charity, so every time you visit, you are helping our partners. We love how unique this is in the blogging world.

We provide, resources, tips, and activities for kids globally; anything from potty training to colouring. Our readers include teachers, parents, and carers from all over the world. Everyone is using it to find stuff to educate and entertain their kids with, so they get a little bit more time to themselves.

How long have you been blogging?

Forever! – well just over ten years, as I started the site in January 2012 – it was actually focused on providing reward charts, but it has moped into something completely different over the years. It still helps to stay at home though, and look after the kids, though they tend to be helping me now as they are both teens.

What inspired you to start your blog?

My kids inspired me, and they still do – but for different reasons. It’s been tough for teenagers in the pandemic, and the power of young people to keep going despite the odds against them has resulted in me wanting to use the site more to help those that need that little bit of extra support. That means we have developed a mindfulness and well-being focus over the last few years on KiddyCharts.

Activities within this part of the site help to give kids a little support in understanding their emotions, and to empower them to express themselves more freely. I am also training to be a counsellor, and have already begun working with kids, and hope to continue to do so over the coming years alongside working on the site.

Who are some of the coolest brands you’ve worked with?

We love any brands that allow kids to learn and play at the same time. Micro Scooters is one of the best brands we have worked with; we love their creativity and focus on getting kids out and active from a very early age. We also can’t get enough of Learning Resources – which have some wonderful toys for helping kids to learn without them even realising they are.

Finally, we worked with Play Monster last year on a huge campaign in schools, creating worksheets for them, and getting their My Living World products into schools. It was a great success, and helped kids understand more about worms and bugs, which has got to be a win-win right? We love working on campaigns that have a creative element within them – it is, after all, what KiddyCharts is all about.

What do you like about Get Blogged?

The customer care on the site is great – they are always happy to help; even dinosaurs like me who don’t quite get the tech side of things from the get-go

What are your tips for bloggers who want to make money with their side hustle?

The most important thing is work ethic – you get out what you put in with blogging. Work hard, and you will reap the benefits. It isn’t an easy route, despite what some might say about blogging. You have to turn your hand to loads of different skills, from SEO, to marketing, and digital analytics. Don’t be afraid to learn new skills to support that side hustle, and you’ll soon find that those skills, and the money you spent learning them, come in handy, and allow you to diversify your revenue streams. Don’t rely on one revenue channel either – as if that gets hit, you are in trouble.

How do you feel about being chosen as Get Blogged’s blogger of the month?

It is a pleasure to be picked and recognised by the team at Get Blogged. We’ve been working so hard to be part of the blogging community, so it is lovely to be acknowledged. KiddyCharts is a bit of a passion project of mine now, and we love it when people actually use it and tell us about it.

We have even recently released a search engine for all those family content bloggers out there, to help them gain visibility and use it as a tool when creating content. Go check out the family content search engine, and add your blogs too. We’ve already got 500+ in there and would love to see if grow even more. Adding your blog means you are happy for a single image to be used from some of your articles in round-up content, like this Lego activity sheet post on KiddyCharts.

Alongside this, it also means you’ll get lots of people seeing and using your site. We are aiming to share this with parents and teachers too – so you’ll get more visitors! If you aren’t sure it is for you, then just ask us. We hope it’ll be useful for both bloggers needing resources for their own content, and getting their name out there too.

We’ve got loads of excellent resources and ideas on the site, so if you have kids, come follow us. Or if you are a teacher, why not try some of our resources for your class?

Remember that we are a social business, so every view gives 51% profit to charity. That means you can give, while you browse, so why not share our site with friends, colleagues, and family too?The more the merrier!

Welcome to this month’s Blogger of the Month.

We love our Blogger of the Month feature, it helps us go behind the scene with some amazing bloggers! This month is a good one – you’re in for a great read and some really inspiring tips on how to grow your blog in 2022.

This month, we’ve caught up with the lovely Sophie of Starting Today Blog. Sophie is a lifestyle blogger based in Newcastle-upon-tyne, England. She is passionate about photography, philosophy and poetry, wellness and mental health.

We love Sophie’s blog and we’re excited to see what you think of this month’s Blogger of the Month instalment…

Here’s what Sophie had to say when we caught up with her…

Please tell us a bit about your blog…

I share poetry and photography with philosophical thoughts on art and creativity. I share my inspirations and ambitions combined with my lifestyle! When I started my blog I wanted to share my art with people. It was during the pandemic so I thought why not?

I started to develop my blog as a way to pass the time. Then, I was contacted by a few brands asking me to work with them and I started thinking ‘hey, I could turn this into something.’ A while later I realised that I love blogging so much that I wanted to share my journey with blogging- to inspire others to do the same! My blog has very much been through a creative process and I love that.

How long have you been blogging?

I’ve been blogging for 14 months now, although, I’ve had a few blogs over the years. I’ve always loved writing and photography so blogging just kind of makes sense to me.

What inspired you to start your blog?

Mainly, I started my blog because I wanted to focus on my talents as a writer. I’d spent years working in all sorts of jobs- just to pay my bills, all the while wishing I could write instead.

I also wanted to do something for myself for a change. My daughter had just turned 1 and there was a pandemic, which meant I was stuck at home, so I saw an opportunity and I went for it!

I’ve actually just started an Instagram account that focuses on why I started my blog- I share my blogging journey! You can follow it here: https://www.instagram.com/startingtodayblog/

Who are some of the coolest brands you’ve worked with?

I have worked with a few brands now. Each brand is different and I like that. The coolest ones are the ones that give you creative freedom over creating content for them. I love being sent packaging and products to photograph.

My favourite brands are Kannakan (CBD products) Daisy (jewellery) and AuraPrint were all really cool (I loved my free business cards, they’re awesome).

What do you like about Get Blogged?

Get Blogged is great because it’s really convenient. It’s a fab place to apply for blog jobs and it’s a reliable source for paid work. It’s also great for practising how to pitch to brands and meeting new brands who want to work with you!

The staff are really friendly and happy to help if you need it. They also run cool competitions and challenges. Working at home can feel a bit isolating and Get Blogged have given me a network and a chance to meet other bloggers. I guess that’s why I love being an affiliate for them!

What are your tips for bloggers who want to make money with their side hustle?

First of all, follow my new Instagram account and Facebook page. I share tips on there all the time. Secondly, focus on what you’re passionate about and the money will follow.

One of the biggest lessons I learned was to concentrate on a niche- instead of writing about absolutely everything! This is when my side hustle became profitable.

How do you feel about being chosen as Get Blogged’s blogger of the month?

I am absolutely delighted to be picked as blogger of the month. I’ve worked really hard on my blog so it’s nice to receive an achievement for it.

We love our Blogger of the Month feature, it helps us go behind the scene with some amazing bloggers! This month is a good one – you’re in for a great read and some really inspiring tips on how to grow your blog in 2022.

This month, we’ve caught up with the lovely Fiona of Savvy in Somerset. From saving on household bills and reducing food waste to finding the best deals on luxury holidays and getting passionate about slow fashion Savvy in Somerset encourages readers to think more positively when it comes to their finances.

We love Fiona’s blog and we’re excited to see what you think of this month’s Blogger of the Month instalment…

Here’s what Fiona had to say when we caught up with her…

Please tell us a bit about your blog…

I blog at www.savvyinsomerset.com where I cover a wide range of personal finance topics, including saving money, making money, frugal living and buying second-hand. I’m a total foodie so I have lots of cheap recipes and I love combining yellow stickers and supermarket discounts to make thrifty meals.

I am a passionate advocate of slow fashion so I’ve written lots of guides on buying second-hand clothes – it’s one of those subjects I could write about all day long!

With the current cost of living crisis, many of my recent posts have been focusing on ways to reduce spending on energy bills and how using coupons and cashback apps can slash the cost of the weekly shop.

I also have a few smaller blogs which include a dedicated food blog and home interiors blog.
www.crumpetsandcocktails.com
www.hawkesathome.com

How long have you been blogging?

I started my first blog in June 2016, so it’ll be six years this summer.

What inspired you to start your blog?

Before starting my blog, I’d spent a long time saving up for a house deposit and wedding, cutting back hugely on all of our expenses and outgoings. I wanted to share everything I had learned but also cover things I hadn’t seen other bloggers writing about too.

I also love writing – I studied English and Drama and then went on to become a chef! I knew that working as a chef wouldn’t be possible when I had children due to the unsociable hours so I started my blog with the intention of it becoming part of a more flexible freelance career.

Who are some of the coolest brands you’ve worked with?

Since I started my blog I’ve been lucky enough to work with some really great brands. Being from Somerset, one of the coolest ones for me was working with Thatchers Cider.

The collaboration involved sampling some sparkling apple wine and writing about how it would be perfect for a celebration. This was not long after my daughter was born so getting paid to drink wine in my sunny back garden seemed like the perfect way to welcome her into the world! https://savvyinsomerset.com/thatchers-family-reserve/

Another memorable one was working with Plusnet, writing about whether people from Somerset are as thrifty as people from Yorkshire, featuring a book on money-saving written by Footballer David Seaman. https://savvyinsomerset.com/save-it-like-safe-hands/

I also loved working with sweet brand Swizzels to create a budget Sweet Table for a wedding. https://savvyinsomerset.com/creating-a-budget-wedding-sweet-table/

What do you like about Get Blogged?

One of the things I like most about Get Blogged is there are opportunities for lots of different domain authorities and audience sizes, so even if you’re fairly new to blogging then you can still make money through the platform.

Working as a freelancer, I do get the occasional non-payer so it’s great to know that when I’m working through the Get Blogged platform, I’ll always get paid for my work.

What are your tips for bloggers who want to make money with their side hustle?

Making money from your blog doesn’t happen overnight and it may be quite a while before you start to earn on a regular basis.

Here are a few of my tips for those wanting to make money with their blog

  • Make sure your blog has a Work With Me page which lists all of the types of collaboration you offer and has clear contact information as well as examples of previous brand work. You can also add your blog email address to your sidebar or footer so it’s easy for brands to find.
  • Update your blog regularly, as brands like to see recent content. If you’re busy with work or on holiday you could ask other bloggers to write guest posts for you to cover that time.
  • Check the #BloggersWanted hashtag on Twitter to find blogging opportunities.
  • Don’t be afraid to go in high when it comes to pricing – brands will negotiate down if they really want to work with you but you can’t negotiate up once you’ve sent a price.
  • Log in to your Get Blogged account often as there are always new opportunities being added.

How do you feel about being chosen as Get Blogged’s blogger of the month?

I was so pleased to be chosen as Get Blogged’s blogger of the month. January and February can often feel like a bit of a slog so finding this out really cheered me up!

Welcome to this month’s Blogger of the Month.

We love our Blogger of the Month feature, it helps us go behind the scene with some amazing bloggers! This month is a good one – you’re in for a great read and some really inspiring tips on how to grow your blog in 2022.

This month, we’ve caught up with the lovely Laura of LThornberry. Laura has been blogging for a while now, starting out in 2013 as a beauty blogger then moving to more lifestyle, covering travel, beauty, health and fitness, fashion, relationships and dating, lifestyle, food and drink, and more!

We love Laura’s blog and we’re excited to see what you think of this month’s Blogger of the Month instalment…

Here’s what Laura had to say when we caught up with her…

Please tell us a bit about your blog…

When I began blogging a number of years ago, I started out as a predominant beauty and fashion blogger. However, over the years, I have changed up my content and expanded my website, and now, I currently run a more lifestyle-themed blog. On my blog, you’ll find a bit of everything.

I use my blog as a platform to discuss everything and anything that I feel will be relatable, informative, and helpful for others. Currently, my lifestyle blog features 10 sub-categories, including, travel, beauty, health and fitness, fashion, relationships and dating, lifestyle, food and drink, business education and finance, blogging tips and home/interiors. As you can see from this list, I feature quite a broad amount of content that I am always looking to grow and expand.

How long have you been blogging?

I began my blog back in 2013. For a number of those years, I used my space on the internet as a way of writing whenever I wanted to – call it more of a hobby.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic began a couple of years ago, I took the time to really increase the amount of time and effort I spent working on my lifestyle blog, and have slowly been able to build an income from this.

Throughout the time spent in lockdown, and on furlough from my regular job, I have had quite a few successful years with my blog, which I am looking forward to continuing throughout 2022.

What inspired you to start your blog?

Throughout school and college, I was always a very creative and artistic person, who also had a passion for writing. Before I started my blog, I followed a number of bloggers who compiled their own content over a variety of subjects, but I was mainly interested in beauty and fashion.

When I began my blog, I wanted to have my own space on the internet where I could talk about, and share different aspects of my life, things I like and discuss different topics.

Who are some of the coolest brands you’ve worked with?

Over the last couple of years, I’ve managed to work with a number of incredible brands, and have been incredibly lucky to work on a variety of product reviews, sponsored posts and campaigns. A few notable brands that I really enjoyed working with are as follows…

ALDI – I managed to work with Aldi back in 2018. I created a series of recipe posts for them on my blog, sharing some of my favourite “Winter Warmer” recipes – my favourite being my Spiced Butternut Squash Soup recipe. https://www.lthornberry.co.uk/2018/11/ALDI-winter-warmers-spiced-butternut-squash-soup-recipe.html

B&M Stores—Throughout lockdown, I was involved with B&M Stores, by creating recipes for their website. I was luck enough to be involved a few times, helping to create content for different themes and campaigns throughout the year. If anyone is interested in taking a look at these recipes, I have included them on the features drop-down of my blog—https://www.lthornberry.co.uk/p/features.html

Hotel Chocolat – Working with Hotel Chocolat on an Easter-themed campaign was probably one of my highlights of 2021. I was lucky enough to be involved in creating a luxury chocolate Easter gifting campaign, where I created a blog post sharing a range of products from their Easter range that would be suitable for the whole family. This can be viewed here— https://www.lthornberry.co.uk/2021/03/luxury-hotel-chocolat-easter-eggs.html

What do you like about Get Blogged?

Get Blogged is an online platform that I have used for a number of years. The website is extremely user-friendly and this makes navigation very simple for when you are looking for specific features of the website, e.g., new assignments and your messages inbox.

Get Blogged offers a wide variety of blogging assignments through the marketplace feature, which I have really enjoyed browsing and finding briefs I am interested in. Submitting your pitches is incredibly easy and quick to do, the Get Blogged website helps you step by step, in order to send a 100% great pitch.

The Get Blogged site is also great for those looking to monetize their blogs, as there are always assignments available for a wide variety of niches and bloggers, making it a great, consistent platform to use.

What are your tips for bloggers who want to make money with their side hustle?

For those who want to start earning money from their blog, my main advice would be – don’t expect to make hundreds overnight! I have been blogging since 2013, and it’s only in the last couple of years that I have finally been able to earn an income from it.

I have previously written a blog post sharing ways bloggers can make money from their sites, which could be extremely useful for those wanting to start earning. https://www.lthornberry.co.uk/2021/07/how-to-make-money-from-blogging.html

How do you feel about being chosen as Get Blogged’s blogger of the month?

When I received the email saying I had been selected to feature as Get Blogged’s blogger of the month, my initial thought was OMG, me? I was extremely pleased that my work and my blog has been recognized in such a way in which I would be shared amongst others. I’ve read other articles from Get Blogged’s blogger of the month and always hoped that one day I could be featured, and I’m extremely happy I’ve finally achieved it!

Welcome to this month’s Blogger of the Month.

We love our Blogger of the Month feature, it helps us go behind the scene with some amazing bloggers! This month is a good one – you’re in for a great read and some really inspiring tips on how to grow your blog in 2022.

This month, we’ve caught up with the incredible Corinne of SkinnedCartree. Corinne is a 30-something years old mum living in York, North Yorkshire, England – she has been blogging since 2012. Blogging is her full-time job and she has a few different websites. Corinne enjoys sharing posts about life, parenting, blog tips and more.

We love Corinne’s blog and we’re excited to see what you think of this month’s Blogger of the Month instalment…

Here’s what Corinne had to say when we caught up with her…

Please tell us a bit about your blog…

I have a few blogs! My main blog is a lifestyle blog, it started as a fashion blog and after a couple of years, I started talking about other topics.

I love writing blog posts that help others with blogging and SEO, apart from that, my main topics are parenting (I have a 1-year-old boy!), personal style and home.

My blog evolves as I grow and the topics change to reflect what is going on in my life at the time. That’s what I love about being a ‘lifestyle blogger’ rather than being restricted to just one niche.

I earn a full-time income from my blog which allows me to stay home and look after my baby. I mostly blog during nap times and when he’s in bed on an evening.

How long have you been blogging?

I probably started my first blog about 20 years ago! I’ve always been journalling and blogging on forums and various platforms (anyone remember LiveJournal or Xanga?). But skinnedcartree.com was born in 2012, so I’m coming up to 10 years.

What inspired you to start your blog?

I’ve always loved being a part of online communities. A friend started a new blog about dresses and I thought it was cool and wanted to do it, too. So I started a free blog with blogger and the rest is history!

Who are some of the coolest brands you’ve worked with?

My favourite collaboration was with Debenhams – I was invited to a Beyonce and JayZ concert in London in the VIP section and they paid for my outfit. Though it’s not my typical style of music, it was such an amazing experience! I’ll probably never get to go VIP to a concert again!

What do you like about Get Blogged?

I like that it’s reliable. I feel confident that I’ll always get paid for the work I do. It’s a great way to top-up my blog income if I have a few quiet weeks!

What are your tips for bloggers who want to make money with their side hustle?

Blogging to make money isn’t quick and easy. You have to be willing to put a lot of work in before earning money. There will be times you feel like you are wasting you time.

You have to keep at it, keep writing quality content that has a purpose and learn about SEO from the start.

You don’t need to spend much money to start with, just a domain and hosting is fine. It can be tempting to start paying for subscriptions and other blogging tools but unless you are sure you can afford it, I would avoid paying out money until you are earning through your blog. There are loads of free blog tools out there you can use.

Also don’t be alarmed if you don’t get as many views as you expect. It takes months and years to get thousands of views! It’s normal to only get a handful per post when you are a new blogger. I think a lot of people think they’ll get views pretty quickly and it can be demotivating when you realise that’s not the case.

There’s a great blogging community over on Twitter, get involved as it’s a great way to stay motivated!

How do you feel about being chosen as Get Blogged’s blogger of the month?

It’s always nice to get recognition for hard work so I was happy to get the email!

Welcome to December’s Blogger of the Month. Pinch punch, first of the month! As you open the first door of your advent calendar, you can enjoy our final instalment of Blogger of the Month for 2021!

We love our Blogger of the Month feature, it helps us go behind the scene with some amazing bloggers! This month is a good one – you’re in for a great read and some really inspiring tips on how to grow your blog in 2022.

This month, we’ve caught up with the incredible Anna from In The Playroom. Anna works with Luciana on her parenting, fashion, lifestyle and tips blog. We love her style of writing and we couldn’t wait to catch up with her this month. Anna has been using the Get Blogged platform successfully for some time and she’s one of our favourite bloggers to promote to our brands looking to hire.

We love Anna’s blog and we’re excited to see what you think of this month’s Blogger of the Month instalment…

Here’s what Anna had to say when we caught up with her…

Please tell us a bit about your blog…

Our main blog, In The Playroom is focused on family life. We share kids crafts, printables, fun family-friendly recipes and more. If you need to keep your children entertained – you will be able to find something here to help you out!

We also have a second site that we launched more recently called On Your Journey which focuses on the topics that we’re passionate about, outside of being mums. Over here we talk more about wellness, self-love, relationships and spirituality.

How long have you been blogging?

In The Playroom was started in 2012, so it’s been nearly ten years. Luciana joined the team in 2020 and we now run our blogs together, with a couple more new sites that we are about to launch.

What inspired you to start your blog?

I was involved in a toy review community on social media. A lot of the other mums taking part already had blogs, so I got inspired to give it a try and I never looked back.

What do you like about Get Blogged?

Get Blogged is very easy and convenient to use, and gives us jobs regularly so the consistency is great. We’ve connected with some great brands and really enjoyed our interactions with all of them, and the different topics we’ve been assigned to write about.

How do you feel about being voted as a Get Blogged Blogger of the Month?

I’m proud to be picked as Get Blogged Blogger of the Month, especially with so many great bloggers in the community. It’s always nice to be noticed – so thank you!

If you could give fellow bloggers one piece of advice, what would it be?

Just keep going. There will always be someone with better photography or more page views, or whatever else so don’t get caught up in comparison, just stay consistent with what you do and that will always pay off.

What are your tips for bloggers who want to make money with their side hustle?

SEO and a good ad network

Here are our sites

intheplayroom.co.uk and onyourjourney.co.uk

and a few posts from each of them

This is a current collaboration with Get Blogged if anyone would like to come and enter our giveaway! https://intheplayroom.co.uk/craft-prize-bundle-mymoneypocket/

Welcome to November’s Blogger of the Month. WHERE is 2021 going?

This monthly feature is where we catch up with one of our amazing bloggers. We take a look behind the scenes at their blogging journey and recognize what they’ve achieved along the way.

This month, we’ve caught up with the incredible Paige from Paige Minds The Gap. Paige is an amazing writer, traveller and adventurist! Her amazing blog is filled with the ultimate destinations for adventures, holidays and relaxing time with your family and friends. She makes travel reading easy and enjoyable and has us wanting to book flights every single week!

We LOVE Paige’s blog and we were buzzing to sit down and catch up with her for November’s Blogger of the Month feature!

Here’s what Paige had to say when we caught up with her…

Please tell us a bit about your blog…

I started Paige Minds The Gap when I studied abroad in England during college. Now, my blog focuses on travel in the Southern U.S. with some international travel here and there.

How long have you been blogging?

I’ve been blogging since January 2013. So 8+ amazing years!

What inspired you to start your blog?

I started my blog initially as a way to share my study abroad journey with my family. I kept it up after the experience because I loved writing and traveling and sharing my tips with others.

How do you feel about being chosen as Get Blogged’s blogger of the month?

I’m very honored to be chosen! It was such a nice surprise!

Name the best opportunity you’ve had because of blogging…

I get to explore so many awesome places thanks to blogging! I recently had the opportunity to review a winery transport service, so I got three of my friends to come with me for a girls’ weekend in the mountains doing wine tastings. It was so much fun to be able to share that with them and for it to be my job at the same time!

What are your tips for bloggers who want to make money with their side hustle?

Learn SEO and learn it early. Once you’ve learned to master SEO, your blog traffic will start to take off! And then you’ll be in the best position to make money with sponsored posts, affiliate links, ads, however you want to monetize.

What are your tips for bloggers who want to make money with Get Blogged?

The pitch is the most important part, but it doesn’t have to be this scary thing. I used Get Blogged’s pitch guides to create a template I use with every pitch. Keep it short and don’t forget the important things: your best site metrics, why your blog is a good fit, and what you can offer the brand.

Welcome to October’s Blogger of the Month.

Our monthly feature is where we catch up with one of our amazing bloggers. We take a look behind the scenes at their blogging journey and recognize what they’ve achieved along the way.

This month, we’ve caught up with the incredible Chloe from Nyxie’s Nook. Chloe is a passionate writer, illustrator, and blogger. Her blog is filled with candid and open posts about mental health, eating disorder recovery, and lifestyle posts. Her style of writing is open and raw and she gives her loyal audience the opportunity to explore their own feelings and thoughts.

We can’t get enough of Chloe and her blog and we were so excited to sit down with her and have a chat.

Here’s what Chloe had to say when we caught up with her…

Please tell us a bit about your blog…

Nyxie’s Nook is a blog that was initially started to help me cope and document my recovery from anorexia nervosa. It has since developed into a lifestyle and mental health blog where I discuss all aspects of, well, life. I’ve taken on guest writers and even advertisers which has proven an excellent way to get to know some of my fellow bloggers.

How long have you been blogging?

I’ve been blogging for 2 and a half years, coming up on 3 in March 2022.

How do you feel about being chosen as Get Blogged’s blogger of the month?

I honestly feel very honoured and surprised. It was unexpected, but I really appreciate it. It gives me a boost of confidence I hadn’t realised I’d lost.

Who are some of the coolest brands you’ve worked with?

Some of the coolest brands I’ve worked with are Viking stationery and Millercare among many others.

Name the best opportunity you’ve had because of blogging…

I’ve had the opportunity to help other bloggers improve, increase their reach and have also had the pleasure of giving advice i.e blogging. I’ve also been approached by many mental health advocates and writers to help in their endeavours also.

What are your tips for bloggers who want to make money with their side hustle?

Go self-hosted and start applying. If you’re stuck on boosting your DA, approach other bloggers for advertising opportunities to help increase high authority backlinks. In the beginning I wrote for many different publications and other bloggers. It really helped boost my DA to where it is today. It gets harder the higher your DA is but by then you’ll have a grasp on how to maintain and work on growing it consistently.

But, above all else, don’t burn out doing what you love. Otherwise you’ll grow to hate it. If you need a break, take one. Forget about followers or counting views etc. While it helps, it’s not an indicator of your worth as a blogger, writer and creative.

What are your tips for bloggers who want to make money with Get Blogged?

Much the same as my above answer, work on boosting your DA so you’re getting higher paid jobs. But it’s also nice to sometimes take lower paid positions to keep the momentum up and to add a few pennies to your pocket. Nothing is out reach if you work for it.

Who are your top three bloggers?

Jenny in Neverland is one of my all time favourites and a good friend of mine. I also love Bournemouthgirl and Ofaglasgowgirl among many others.

Share your links for everyone to follow you!!

My blog link is www.nyxiesnook.com. As mentioned I am open to guest posting on the blog, writing for other blogs and I’ve also opened my advertising for 2022.

You can also find me on Twitter (www.twitter.com/nyxiesnook), Pinterest (www.pinterest.co.uk/nyxiesnook) and Instagram (www.instagram.com/nyxtrix). My Facebook page is currently getting a facelift and should be back in action in the new year.
